R1L can trash your phone - twice !! |

Took my T610 (bought in UK) to get R1L installed (in S.A.) and an hour later I was told that it fried my phone (lost all contacts, etc.)
They promised to give me a new phone and two hours later they did. I asked them to update the software on the new phone, and once again they said the phone wasn't 'taking' the software.....
Two dodgy phones ? - I don't think so...!!
Sounds like they need to download R1L again - their copy seems to be corrupt. Anyone else experience their phone not wanting to 'take' the new version?
((at least all the scratches on my old phone are gone !!!!  ))

If you are on Vodacom take your phone to the nearest Vodacare repair centre.Dial 0821944(Free call from any vodacom phone) for your nearest Vodacare Or contact S.E directly on 0861732220.
I just hope you took your phone to an approved S.E repair centre.

Hey the only other two south africans in these forums in one post, .
The best place I found to get firmware flash done in sa is at a shop in Rivonia in the mall there, I forgot the name now. As long as the phone is under warranty they'll do it for you FREE and while you wait.

SE at Vodaworld sent me to their Advanced Repair Centre (CSL - Midrand), as they are refurbishing their shop and cannot update software.
BTW - even the new phone they gave me did NOT have the new software on it (mine was the first phone that they had tried to update to R1L).
