I donīt know exactly wat it is, but it should be faster than the old gsm.

You mean enhanced GSM or EDGE? (Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution) It is a path from GSM to 3G. If it isn't that I don't know. |

it stands for extended gsm! its the common gsm-net..
main function is to put voice/data out on the 900/1800/1900Mhz on the frequence sideband so you can have more data=users in one channel without overloading the net!! both phone and net most be capable.. |

just to correct : edge isnt the same! edge= 384kbps
gsm (egsm)= 9,6kbps
