there was a problem with the last 1.3 widcomm update. only way a few of up fixed it on XP was to uninstall the previous version in your main profile, tthen create a new admin profile and install the update in that and switch back to your original profile.

OK I tried on a different computer and the Bluetooth device works.
However I was only able to have it connected once for 10 minutes. Now I can't seem to connect again. I can pair the P800 to the PC Bluetooth. But thats as far as it goes. Is there a correct seqeunce of of events to connect? |

if you had a previous version of the software on the machine and then installed the latest 1.3 update it would not work in the same profile
installing the latest 1.3 update on a machine where an earlier version was not installed would work fine
appears there was something in the un-install process of the previous version that didn't uninstall correctly, so installing the latest version in the same profile caused problems on XP
the only way a few of us got around it was to uninstal the old version, create a new admin profile on XP, install the latest version there and then return to the original (default) profile you use for XP and it would then work

OK I'll try that in my original computer and see if that fixes the problem.
The other question I was asking is that is there a sure fire way to get the bluetooth to conect each and every time?
It seems really random when I can make it connect and not.
Usually if I uncheck all the bluetooth boxes from COM3 - COM13 in the PC suite setup - then check them again then it might work. |

hi - to make it a smooth connection
check your local (host) Bluetooth Serial COM Port (you can find out which one this is from the TDK Advanced Configurations, Local Services Tab), make sure that this COM port is checked in the mRouter application
then when ever you want to connect the P800 (once you have it paired) over Bluetooth initiate a Serial Port connection (you can right click on the Bluetooth Icon in the System Tray, Qucik Connect, Serial Port, Other Devices and choose the P800, it will subsequently be added as a shortcut to the previous submenu) from the PC to the P800, the connection will begin, then disconnect, then the P800 will connect back to the PC (you may be asked to authorise this - you can set it to remember) and you will have a connection. This connect/disconnect/connect resolves the master/slave connection relationship. (It's the same procedure with the Series 60 devices as thay all make use of this mRouter system).

Hi Dubwireless,
I am using the TDK driver too and hope u can help on these:
Do u know how to get rid of the "disconnect" popup? ( not the one about "COM0")
Do u know how to use PC speakers and mic as the headset for P800? I tried connecting to the "audio-gateway" service of P800 but it disconnects every time right after the connection is made. (and in fact i am rather confused about the role in each service). On the other hand, if i try to scan my PC from P800, P800 won't recgonise my PC as headset but only a PC.
many thank!
