Didn' found this in the manual: When camera is set on night (litlle moon on your screen) , you can by pressing the joystick up or down alter the brightness of your image. Quite usefull under dark conditions... |

I know it works in both modes. You must have misunderstood my previous post. I was just making it clear that it is not exclusive to night mode . . . no offence intended

I discovered this. I thought it would be a zoom though:-(

Apparantly it isnt the brightness that is adjusted but the electronic equivalent of the 'shutter speed'. The result being brighter images, but you will need to hold the phone steadier.

Many people are already complaining about the quality of the T610 cam (not me!) so doing a digital zoom will only make it worse.
Now... if they could start fitting optical zoom into the phones then I would be impressed but I guess as phones get smaller there just isn't the room for the lenses, at least not lenses that would keep the phone in the same price bracket!

To Orangeman,
If you compare large picture size with the small picture size,
you will see that the picture on the screen is twice the normal
size. So you got a digital zoom on the T610.

The zoom feature only works on my phone when in night mode. Just wondering it is related to the firmware version? I'm using T610 with R1A081, and camera SW version 200303254
Also wondering... which setting do you guys use most often for picture taking. Large or small? Are you happy with the results?

You can change the shutter speed in both modes (normal and night). The function of the shutter speed is to let more light in, hence, if ur not in a lit area, pressing up and down simply wont have an effect because theres no light to let in. Also, the Large/small mode works as a zoom. Pressing right and left on the new sofware adjusts colour saturation. Im very happy with my camera |
