Hey all.. This is something I been thinking
of for some time but never seen anyone else
meantion.
You can buy Bluetoth for you PC/Laptop and then use it to surf through your phone (gprs)
and to sync the phone with the PC/Laptop.
ok thats nice.. but what I would like to
do more is to be able to wap/checkmail etc.
throught the Bluetoth conenctivity instead
of the phones gprs connectivity.
What I mean is when I'm on the road the phone
will wap/poll mail using GPRS but when I
get home it will wap/poll mail using the
Bluetoth connectivity.
Alot of ppl like me have free Internet connection at work and at home but perhaps
I wanna sit on the balcony a sunny day drink
beer and wap why not use the free
Internet connection instead of paying
the SP bundles of money.
Showing off to your friends whould be more fun too knowing you do it for free.
So.. anyone who knows if its possible? |

Bluetooth is a way of connecting two or more devices within a distance of 10 metres (roughly i think), not a gateway to the internet or wap. Between laptop and phone use Bluetooth yes. Between headset and phone use Bluetooth yes. But to connect phone to wap using Bluetooth can't be done (afaik), you have to use your GPRS/GSM account to continue to do that. |

You can do it one way, and you can have diff wap profiles
where you enter ip numbers right?
Thats why I thought its not to farfetched that you would be
able to use it the other way also.
The bluetoth adapter in the PC can be used for
LAN access by let say a Laptop with Bluetoth adapter too
so communicating that way are not impossible.
But it sure might be impossible with Ericsson T68i due to
lack of support in the software.
But it was worth asking anyway. |

Bluetooth 1.1 will supported WAP over Bluetooth,
you can see it on Bluetooth 1.1 spec. |

Nice 3Com 3CREB96 (USB Bluetooth adapter)
is 1.1 according to 3Com.
I wonder if T68i claims to be 1.1 also I bet its not hehe |

I think may need SE or 3COM provide software (PC side) to enable WAP over GPRS.
