T68i / Outlook sync problem |

Hi,
I have my t68i and outlook connecting via a usb bluetooth dongle (no probs there)
However, whenever i sync the two, outlook entries seems insistent that names are reversed to as they appear in my t68i.
i.e john smith becomes smith, john.
I have tried changing Phone Book > Options > Sync. view to either choice but the outlook entries remain reversed. This first happened btw when i first synced the two things.
Any answers greatfuly received. I have done quitea few searches of these boards but cannot find *the* definitive answer.
Thanks in anticipation,

In outlook go to tools, options, contact options and look at the settings in there for "default full name order" and "default file as order"!

Thanks,
I've already tried that though and it doesn't seem to affect entries already in there.
Any other thoughts welcomed.
TIA

No, it doesn't affect existing entries. You have to go manually to each existing entry and click on the 'file as' field and choose the way you want that item to look from there.
I haven't seen anything that will do it globally retrospecitively.

There is a way to go around this. Go to "mappings" section in the XTND Connect Setup. When you view mapping for your contacts you will see that Fist name is mapped to First name, and Last name is mapped to Last Name. Remove both mappings. Afterwards create a new mapping where both the First Name AND the Last Name on the phone is mapped to the First Name field in Outlook. Save. Force full sync. Done.
Note: Obviously when you sync, the Last name field in OutLook will remain empty, so this is mostly usefull if you don't use "Firstname, Lastname" naming in the phone.
This worked really well for me since it helps avoid weird Outlook entries when you only have First name for a person, or a person has a double name. I also maintain 2 different contact folders. 1 dedicated entirely to phone sync, and one for everything else. So the missing last name field in Outlook doesn't bother me. (The entire name is still present, it's just located in the "First Name" field)
