I just bought a Dell laptop with BT builtin. The laptop is connected to internet via ADSL. However, tried as I may I still could not connect my P800 to the net via the laptop BT.

I've done some searches on Google and looking for past forum posts, yet I still failed. I tried to use Proximity Connector without success. I would be very grateful if some one could point out to me where I could look for pointers. TIA.

U need to install the PC suite that came on the CD with ur P800 in the box.

Then when the connection manager is running u need to create a SERIAL link to your phone using the bluetooth device - how this is done will depend on the bluetooth software shipped with your laptop. U'll have to look it up. Usually U create a 'pretend' COM port. This port will then set up a serial link to ur phone which the connection manager will pick up and use.

Look out for some software also called WiddCom. This software is bluetooth connection software that is very user friendly. This should help you. Look for a site that u can download it from (somewhere like www.mitsumi.com). U will need to be sure the software supports your type of bluetooth hardware.

Lastly... When u have your connection up and running just connect to the iinternet using your laptop and the P800 will automatically try to use that connection as its internet connection (instead of GPRS or whatever). The laptop and P800 just need to be connected via the serial bt link and stay connected (they should be paried up for this).

Happy surfin'....
