I was advised on friday pm by the manager of the SE service centre in Leeds that the MMS upgrade will be available in week 16, and will have all the functions of the T68. You will not be able to store quite as many pictures in the phonebook due to less memory in original t68, but he didn't know exact figures.

the main point however is that he claims it wll be £47.50 plus VAT to upgrade as it is not a warrnety item!!! are they ripping us off or what? has anyone else heard of this charge?

The upgrade will be free according to
But its up to the SC if they would charge anything, and as long you are having any kind of problems that can be software related I believe that they will do it for FREE.
And that part with memory is pure BULLS**T.

I suppose that everyone here knows it!

Yes, the memorything is just crap! The hardwarespecs. in m and i is identical! And the upgrade should be for free, or maybe for a small symbolic fee.

They cannot charge a thing as they are breaking the law. The phone was advertised and sold with the ability to send/receive MMS which it cannot, so they are in breach of the trade descriptions act.

Therefore, if they wish to charge demand your money back for the old phone and buy the t68i.

As soon as you start quoting the law they will fold and do the upgrade for free.

I have saved the Ericsson UK webpage which advertised the MMS function to wave in their face if they demand money for the upgrade.

You are completly right! The phone was sold with the MMS upgrade, if they start charging then they break the law.
I printed the www page there it says it the first MMS phone
The more I think of if the more I feel like bringing it back to store and claim my money back.
But if I´ll buy a T68i that seems to more full of bugs then T68m. And I need a phone, and I love ny T68 but..
Really dont know what to do.

Right now I´ll sleep on my "problems"

MR Noodles > The T68i doesnt seem to be full of bugs I've been using mine a lot the last three days, and it works quite allright, no problems at all

About the memory thing,..it was said by the production manager of SE, that it could "look like" one phone had more memory than the other. BUT he explained that they are exactly the same, but their internal memory is managed differently,..so You dont see the same result, although the phones are the same.

I am past worrying about the upgrade. They can't charge for it and that is that. I have all my documents from ericsson and my vendor and i have informed themobilerepublic.com already about the rumours. We won't lose.

Hi jh67!
That part with the memory is nice, I finds it a bit annoying that people cant keep the their mouth a little less open when they dont seems to have the slightest clue about what their talking about. and I dont mean you
The problem with the ring volume - do you have it on your T68i - that volume 2,3,4 is in the exact same volume?
