I finally bought my P800 from Sony. It is in Mineral Grey, with Chinese Chars supports and R2F patch.

I beleived it is the latest shipment, which save my trouble to upgrade the phone to the latest R2F patch.

I yet to explore more about my P800. So far, I only find that in NEW SMS, I can only tap on the virtual keyboard to compose. Can I write on the screen? Tapping on the virtual keyboard is too slow...

Yes you can write on the screen.

I use the English version and I have found it much easier to write on the screen for data entry when using a screen protector such as Brando.

The downside of the P800 not having T9 which doesn't really matters for me is that you can compose your text with hand writing recognition.

A mineral grey handset you have got there!? Cool. How much in RM you've paid for it?

I got it for RM2799.00

It looks very exclusive. Since most of them are using BLUE whereas I am holding GREY

I support Chinese and comes with latest patches R2F. I can just write chinese as normal, without needed to learn the PENG YIN or Stroke. Very cool Chinese handwriting capability.

Hi !
I just read through your message and you mentioned that the P800 support chinese character and chinese Input... and the R2F patches.. something.......

Is it a chinese version of P800 or the English version upgrade version??
If that's the upgrade version, may I know where and how to get that patches???

Will the patches slower down the performances of P800??

Hope you reply me soon

Hi clive_nyc,

I think it is the Chinese Version of P800. In fact, I have the same question when I saw this unit. At first, I thought it is the P802 (the China/HK version). However, the box is displayed P800-Mineral Grey.

So, I think it is the latest P800 with latest patches and chinese characters support.

Oh!! No wonder lah.. I thought the chinese patches for P800 came out so soon. As I know there is still no such patches to upgrade english version of P800 to read and input chinese character in the phone..

Anyway, thanks for your reply. And if you have any latest information or software (especially free games), feel free to email me at clive_nyc@yahoo.com

I'm also a Malaysian but currently stay in Singapore.
Nice to meet you here.

Congratulation to you! Welcome to P800 world.

I felt a bit uneasy, because Iif I bought it 2-3 days later, I could have saved RM100. Just a wrong timing.

Doesn't the chinese stuff eat 3 mb of your internal storage??

The p802(chinese p800) only has 9mb internal memory...
A necessary evil if you're chinese but...
