Which is the fastest way to copy OGGs to MS Duo ? |

Hi,
When I tried to copy OGGs to the MS Duo using the USb Docking Station, each file (size approx 2-2.5 mb) took around 3 minutes to copy.
Any suggestions regarding a faster way to copy the files ???
I'm using the following:
P800 version : R2F
PC Suite : 1.5.1
Connection : USB Syncstation
I also have a BT usb dongle but the phone connection monitor doesn't seem to recognise it.
Thanks |

yeah, but a USB memory stick adaptor to plug into your pc. That will beheaps faster!

@masseur:
Thanks
Looks like I'll have to get that card reader after all.

a card reader is probably the way to go.. i just bought one and the transfer speed (USB 1.1 although it is USB 2 capable) is something like 12Mbit/sec. for a file of the size you mentioned it took a couple of seconds.
i was looking through the connection settings of the P800 and one thing i haven't tested is increasing the the cable connect speed. no way for me to test this at the moment since i'm using linux. |

i have found the p800 docking station to be very slow. goto www.dabs.com and search under "Memory Card Readers" they do them for £12 or any good pc store and look for a memory stick reader. they start at about £20. just be careful taking duo out cos sometimes it gives me problems if p800 is trying to read memory card, mabey best if you power down mobile cos i have corupted the memory card once or twice and norton fixes it.

This is from an earlier post

most probably cheapest way to pick one up.

An Alternative:
If you own any Sony Cybershot digital camera, you may use it as a card reader and achieve much higher transfer rates

thanks to all for the info
I managed to get a memory stick reader and used the memory stick adapter to plug in the duo. It works really fast. A 2/2.5 mb file was taking about 3 mins wit the sync station but with the card reader it only took a few seconds. |
