I got my HPM-10 player and I'm using a T300. I can write to the supplied 32 meg card fine. I could also play music fine. I recently bought a 128 meg card and I can write fine, but the HPM-10 doesn't recognize the card, it just says "insert music card". I've tried formatting it to FAT and FAT32 and nothing.

The MMC reader I'm using is Sandisk USB.

I did a search before I posted and that's where I got the FAT32/16 thing, but most people get the "File System Error" popping up. I, on the other hand, get a "Insert Music Card" popping up. It's as if there is no card present.

Is FAT the same as FAT16? When formatting I only get the option to select between FAT and FAT32. Either way, I've tried both.

Also, the 32 meg card that came with the HPM-10 shows up as just FAT and it works perfectly.

Since no one has any answers, I've got a new question.

What MMC card brand do you use?

I got the same problem as the other people here. I got a 128 MB card from Twinmos which work perfectly with my Siemens SL45i, but when I use it with my HPM-10 I got the message:

Insert Music Card.

I haven't tried the 32 MB that came with it. And I've only tried it with my T610, I'll probably try it with T68i too.

Any suggestions guys?

I think the solution can either be:
1. Upgrade the software in the HPM-10
2. Format the MMC card with FAT16

the firmware in the HPM can be upgraded yes... but this requires that the servicepoint has the right cable, not all have it....

btw... FAT and FAT16 is the same thing...

hard to say if that's the solution... not many servicepoints does perform firmware upgrades on accessories (HPM and Bluetooth headsets), these are often just exchanged if returned faulty.

I went home and tried the 32 MB MMC card and it worked fine.
My suggestion is that the 128 MB card I got from TwinMos is not supported by the HPM-10, could this be true?
