Im getting my phone firmware upgraded tomorrow.

What is the best way to restore my stuff????

Is it to just do a backup and restore?
(I know you loose some stuff)

Or just copy contacts as a vcf and do the rest manually?

I have done a search but I cant understand what the problem is with doing a full restore after a backup. Except you need to use a specific version of the suite I think??? which one?

Help, im nervous

hey dude

I think the latest version is 1.1.6.0 i.e the software suite for your pc.

1.7.2.1 is the latest version of the backup software, try that and do a full backup, go get it flased, bring it home, do a full restore and tell us what happened. As far as I know there should be no negatives to doing it this way some guys said that after a restore was done their CDA rolled back to the old version prior to flashing but bluetooth and phone stayed on new firmware, they also said that they didn't notice any changes after the restore i.e. perfect flashed p800 with all the new features.

I personally didn't do a restore, I installed all my apps again.

hope this helps.

The times I have restored my phone, I've found that the phone must be as 'empty' as possible, no additional software before restoring..

FYI a full backup/restore wont always restore everything.

I backed up mine (with 1.5.1) before sending off to the morons at SE USA. When it came back three weeks later I Restored it and almost everything was there except:
1. Voice dialing info all lost
2. All pictures-on-contacts lost too
Easy enough to set these again, but a pain.

My firmware didnt change: I still have the lame R1D before the backup.
