go and find a pentium 1 166mhz type spec machine and try and play a DivX on it.. and you'll see why.
The P800 hardware simply isn't close enough to provide the type of power thats needed for decompression.
Sorry! I would love it too but it ain't gonna happen.

.mp4 is good enough for the phone anyway... the file sizes arent too big... quality is good....
to fit a whole episode of simpsons or whatever on the 16meg card is quality

I would tend to agree with Andy_P here, however the reduced screen resolution/size of the P800 might allow divxs encoded at a lower resolution to be viewed using less resources. However, if you need to re-encode a film anyway, you might aswell encode it using a codec that has been designed for small devices with limited power like mp4 or vic. Makes the whole thing a bit of a waste of time really, although I am sure it is technically possible to "see" a divx movie on a P800 if the software was developed...which it won't be of course!!
