Hi

I don't wish to be negative, but it dawned on me last night that the P800 wishlists everyone has used to say what they would like to see on their P800 (including myself) to send to SE are pretty pointless.

SE know that we have allready bought our P800 and therefore there is no profit in them improving the phone for us, it would cost them more money and we cannot improve there profit.

It would be much more benificial to get non-P800 owners to state what might make them buy a new P800 if certain options were added, this would give SE a better insight on what to do if they wish to sell more phone, not improve old ones, and again therefore improve sales.

I hope don't step on anyones toes, I just thought a list of future buyers requests may have more sway with SE and get present owners what they want in the process.

Cheers

Daniel

Absolutly right mate. The many improvements that we p800 owners have put forward will probably not be put into upgrades for the p800 but if they read them a few might go into the next phone they make.

Then we will buy the next phone and everyone is happy. They make more money and we get the improvements.

Sell you p800 on ebay for £300 and you will probably make a profit as well.

I think I am gonna wait & see how they treat P800 when P810 is out.

If I don't like it, I'm outta P series.

Cos u know P810 could suffer the same problems as P800, and with this kind of service and support from SE, we're back to square one..

I agree epscilon the ideas we put forward might make it into SE's next flagship phone, but they still prob wont help us P800 owners that are stuck in the minimum term and cannot get the new phone.

This is why if we push potential owers to speak up they will hopefully add them to the P800 and therefore benifit us. As at the moment it does not matter what they put into the P810 as it will not improve my phone.

I beg to differ... i had a T68i (now it is my girlfriends) and well that phone is fairly old now and only in the last month or two SE came out with software R8A. it has new games, bluetooth enhancements and other bug fixes. i think SE will continue to develope the P800 as they are interested in keeping customers happy. in business you have more chances of getting existing customers to repurchase than getting new business. i do hope SE get the bluetooth stack right as right now it needs some work. the calendar location field needs to have the 16 character limit removed and the syncing software needs to have lots more options and also be able to log into the pc via VPN and sync that way...
anyway just my thoughts

I agree with Daniel, but frozenwaffles also has a point! SE keeps on updating firmware.

I agree frozenwaffles does have a point but i didn't say that SE will not update phones, but they will only do so if it is economically viable. I think it is a bit naive to think that SE will do anything to be nice.

They will update phones where they think it will sell more so the 16 characters in calender is a good point, that could stop somebody say with a IPAQ moving to the P800 so it could be worth updating this function.

Equally by updating the phone afterwards and letting it become known to the buying public, it allows SE to release phones earlier in their developement, therefore starting to recoupe money earlier in their process. How many people do you think had a slight gripe with a SE phone in the shop but bought it anyway because they thought SE would get rid of the problem on update. I bought my old T68 knowing I would update when the new software come out for the T68i.

And the winner is................... @danielt68
Yes it stops them looking like a "Take the money & run company" also companies want to make a product people WANT, so provided SE DO read forums AND take in feedback from shops, they will prosper.

BUT remember we are not AVERAGE customers, we are enthuesiasts, so SE need to go for what the MAJORITY want, that may be something simple like size or colour of the phone.

A good example of this is this; large numbers of the phone buying public over 25yrs old have not got a clue what Bluetooth is, so are not worried about a bluetooth issue.
Reminder; milk, sugar, crisps, post letter.
