I remember when the p800 first came out, and even months before it came out.....everyday i come on esato to check for news and stuff, loads of new post with lots of useful info gets posted, but the pass month or two.....we got nothing excepts for rubbish like ppl talking about the video capturing software....and old threds like best apps(most of the time even <10 post aday). Is there no more news for our phone? or is it that people cant be bothered posting quality stuff anymore?

speaking of which...i suppose this post is one of the "useless/nothing to say so lets post something" post.....how sad

I'm new to the P800 game and I have found some really useful pointers in this forum. I suppose if you are a mature P800 user it may be different.

and don't forget that searching will give you an invaluable database of previous support problems.. as soon as you have an issue you can be fairly sure someone else has had at least very similar and solved it.

Help! Does anyone have a fix to clear a total lock down on a P800? Ive tried the recommended ten-second press of the usual power button, but when I reboot it just goes back to the white screen with the SONYERIC ball. And nothing else. Is there not a combination of buttons to press that might free things up? Anyone insider knowlede would be vastly appreciated. Right now its just an unusable lump of plastic and electronics.

That happened to me once. Just did the 10 second thing a couple of times. Also removed the battery for about 10 minutes, pressed power without bettery and put battery back in. It did work again and have never had that issue again.

Actually, this is one of my few disappointments with the P800. Until recently, I survived quite nicely with a Nokia 7650 and a Jornada 578. Now, my P800 has arrived and my Jornada is used solely for reading e-books. My P800 has replaced almost all the more important functions of my PDA... But I have no good news source to track the changes in the Symbian Smartphone market.

The PocketPC crowd have a great website called PocketPCThoughts.com. The Palm crowd have several great sites covering their machines. Nothing really covers the P800 well (and don't mention my-symbian.com - I'm not too impressed with that site at all.)

Does anyone know of a site like this which could augment Esato's forums with some good Symbian-specific news in a well-produced and well-balanced manner?

About the freeze thingy: try to remove the battery and reinsert first. Then try to boot without the memstick. That did the trick for me! (Even though the filesystem was corrupted )

secondly somethings cannot be found in product catalog but are posted here .. It helps a lot !
about applications a lot of times every app and prog has been discussed here.
A new user of esato.com do not search the forums but post a new one instead ... ya this seen many times ofcourse ppl dont have time to search the old ones ....
They would be rather more happy if somebady calls them and tells them a solution for their post ...LOL

Well, basically the P800 is already as stable as it can get... all the apps for it are already out... all except the damn video recorder. Devs at SE are really stupid. Anyway... enough of that.

The P800 is over half a year old... that's pretty old in electronics years... and it's still going strong, just like the T68i.

The T610 is new kid in town and will fuel forum talks until the P810 will be released... don't feel bad for the P800... it broke new ground by beong the first USEFUL hybrid on the market. TechTV has been giving it rave reviews since it first came out. And as far as hybrids are concerned, the P800 really has been the first one to fuse all these functions together successfully. Now, if only they would release the damn video recorder!
