Well, again I have tried everything and searched as many threads as I can manage in an evening, and no joy. I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything twice, and at one stage it almost worked, but really this is starting to bug me.

The T610 and the Wincomm software can talk to each other fine. I've done all the pairing, sent files both ways, and sync'd with outlook using the wincomm IrMC option (which works well!)

In fact everything works as you might expect _until_ I install the SonyEricsson software (which I'm almost ready to award the 'worst product of the year')...

The control panel icon 'Phone Monitor Options' doesn't seem to do anything much. I can fiddle with the COM ports to my hearts content but it can't find the phone at all.

The XTND Connect software can't see the phone, and the Dial-up configurator can't see the phone. Obviously because MPM can't see it to start with!

As I said, by some stroke of manipulation (which I've since forgotten) I did manage to get MPM to see the phone long enough for it to remember it, but then it lost it again. The XTND and Dial-up Wizard have _never_ worked, even then.

I'm going to go to bed in a huff, possibly cry into my teddy bear, and hope that someone can help me when I wake up!

I can't specifically help with your problem, but I'm just wondering if you really need to install Sony Ericsson's software at all?

As far as I can see, Widcomm's Bluetooth software includes all of the functionality of SE stuff (inc. Dial-up Networking capabilities) so why do you need both? I have the same set up as you but have never really felt the need to install the software that came with the phone.

Actually I agree with you totally... in fact the Wincomm stuff syncronises more than the XTND software!

However, I want to configure the PC to use GPRS via the handset, and I don't know how to go about doing that without installing their Dial-up wizard.

If anyone can help with GPRS setup, my worries are (almost) over!

Well, I think I have solved it now but I need a couple more hours to make sure it is all stable, then I'll post my solution! :o)

Actually it's quite easy, create a serial connection in bluetooth and remember which com port you choosed. Now in MPM activate and book that com port. After that it should work. If it doesn't then try to activate the bluetooth serial port manually the first time.

Avtually I never got it working and ended up removing all traces of the SE software. It must surely be the biggest pile of w*nk I've ever tried to use.

I'm currently looking for an alternative that will integrate with outlook and sync without needing the SE software.

I might even write it myself using the newer SyncML standard.

@flump:
You can use software from widcomm to sync. with Outlook. Just click on "IrMC Synchronize, then your T610 will sync with Outlook.

I'm aware of that, but the Widcomm software doesn't have any intelligence. It just copies *everything* across. Obviously with very large data sets you'd want a more intelligent program that only copies things that have been changed since the last sync.
