T68i => Ericssons own software for syncronisation isn't compatible |
CyberVisitor Joined: Dec 21, 2001 Posts: > 500 PM |
With the T68, Ericssons syncronisation software for non Outlook users worked fine (found under the T65 section). But that software isn't working with the T68i.
You can't use it to manage your adressbook, send sms, configurate the phone etc.
That's really sad news since it was a fine way to backup a huge adressbook in the phone.
If anyone has found a program that can backup the T68i phonebook (and also manage it), I would be most greatfull if you could post the name and url of it here. I think many people will be dissapointed about this sad news.

Was it the file called: "Package_2_for_Ericsson_PFW_version_R2A04"?
How is it working on your configuration?

Dunno, got the phone today, have to charge it for 16 hours first before I can start using it. The file was called: R3APackage1 |

That package is the latest (even newer than the one on the included CD-Rom), but it doesn't hold the software for syncronisation. What I ment was the T65 software for non Outlook users that is also compatible with the T68, but doesn't seem to be working with the newer T68i. |

@cybervisitor, i would guess that sonyericsson has a new mobile phone monitor. i would try it this way:
a) install the ericsson package 2 software
b) install the sonyericsson software, this should update the mobile phone monitor
still the phone's API remains to be OBEX so it might be worth a try. |

The latest software that should be installed for the T68i is: "R3APackage5" for those who don't have Outlook and only whish to use MyPictures, SendFile etc.
What I am refering to is Ericssons software that is capable of managing and backing up your phone book. It is called: "Package_2_for_Ericsson_PFW_version_R2A04" and works fine with T68 (even though you download it from the T65 section).
What I am saying is that it doesn't work with the T68i and there is no other version of it to download from Ericsson.
This means that those T68i users without Outlook can't backup their phonebook.
Anyone with solutions for another software that handles backup for the T68i would be most wanted. Thanks.

@cybervisitor, that is exactly what i am referring to. the process i mentioned is for you to fool the phone into thinking that it is talking to a sonyericsson software, but in reality it is talking to package 2 of ericsson. |

Aha, sorry i did'nt understand that - my mistake! It's a god idea and I will try it out. Even though I think it is related to the fact that the T68i handles the adressbook in a slighlty different way. But it is worth a try, thanks again!

The old version that was brought a long with T39 only supported sync with Outlook if im not wrong?
And then there was some "buy online version" for LotusNotes, and other, users.
Is it possible to sync 2 phones on the same computer but with 2 different addressbooks?
I sync my on my XP Outlook profile - and my GF want to sync her T39 with her Outlook profile?

@cybervisitor, that means T68i owners need to wait for a new version then. |

mmm it would be nice with a
software what could backup
and handle the T68i.
I don't want to use Outlook or Notes
since I very much dislikes
both of them. A small standalone
app would be prefered.
Ericsson has a site for developers right?
Sounds like a nice litle project to work on
when I have quiet moments at work
(unless someone already did this I
don't like reinventing the weel) |
