Difference between T68 & T68i => battery life |

I bought a T68i today and the salesman seemed to know quite a lot about the phone (he had one himself), so I asked him what the difference was betwwen T68 and T68i. He told me everything I've already read in this forum, but he told me something else as well...the standby of T68 is 300hrs while it's 390hrs for the T68i. He knew so much about the phone that I've chosen to believe him. So it's not only the looks of the T68i and the MMS-function that's different from T68, but batterylife as well. |

Using the phone just a couple of days now, to early to tell something about that.
Battery performance only becomes clear after two/three complete charge/discharge cycles.
What I do know is that the standby and talktimes in the t68i status menu still fluctuate! It can be 6 hrs standbytime, switch the phone off and on again and you're getting complete other numbers in the status menu. |

Hi all! I'm new here.
Got my T68i this thursday.
I just charged the battery the second time and it shows 290 hours of standby.
They say that the performance of the battery will improve after a few charges, but I have a hard time believing it will reach 390 hours...
I'd believe it's the same battery in T68i as in the original T68, but anyone got real info about this?
Cheers!

By the way, as I said earlier I purchased my T68i today and the guy told me to charge the battery for 16 hours before I start using it. But do I only need to do this the first time or should I charge it for approx. 16 hours the first 2-3 times? |

I would say that its enough to charge it for 16h the first time!
I did it and my battery is working just fine (not the phone though )

Oops.. I didn't know that.
I just charged it until the battery was full - about 2-3 hours.
The manual didn't say anything about that! |

Are you sure?
On the first pages or at the battery charge section?

No, the manual says:
"Wait approx. 4 hours, or until the icon for the battery shows full capacity."

It's confirmed! Checked out SonyEricssons website.
Standbytime:
T68: 290hrs
T68i: 390hrs!
Finally, there is more to T68i then just the looks. I think more and more differences between T68 and T68i will show up as more and more people get this phone. |

I heard the batteries were the same, but the T68i saves energy somehow... maybe by using less light or something
That's what I've heard. So after the T68m update, the battery-time should be longer too... |

Its not impossible that the new SW is less "power-demanding" then the old one!
More optimized for the HW so to speak!

I don't think it's less light, the buttonlights of the T68i is much brighter than those of T68...
Is there in any other area which T68i could save power in? |

Think the blue ones glows stronger, but dont uses more power.
