Arrghhh. I just bought a T610 and there's no Pinyin input for messaging! You can change the menus to Chinese but you can't enter text. What good is that? My girlfriend is Chinese and doesn't understand English (yet). From my T68i I can send Chinese SMS but not from this expensive new phone. You would think a T610 sold in Singapore would have Pinyin input. I hope the service point can fix this for me. Anyone know? If not, who wants to buy a brand new T610? |

u can replace your t610 and not your gf huh? hehe
try to find t618 (china) or t610c (hong kong or taiwan) (keypads has pin yin symbols) |

This just makes no sense to me.
You can change the menus to Chinese but not the input for messaging. If someone can't read English well enough to use English menus, what makes SE think they are going to be able to type in English?
Oh well... I'm going to call the Service Point today and see if they can help me by changing the FW to T610c. |

Hello. I purchased a T610 yesterday. Previously I was using a T68i. I was quite dismayed to discover that my new T610 lacks PinYin input (or any type of Chinese input for that matter). My older, and much less expensive T68i has this fuctionality. I correspond with many Chinese who cannot read English. I am quite surprised that a phone sold in the Singapore market lacks any method for entering Chinese text. The menus can be changed to Chinese though, which is somewhat baffling to me. If someone cannot read English, why does SE think they will be able to text using English?
I would like to know if it is possible to change the firmware of my new T610 to support PinYin Chinese text input. Your attention to this query is greatly appreciated. Other than this problem, I really love the phone. But unfortunately if there's no solution, I will have to revert to my T68i or purchase a Siemens SL55 which I know supports PinYin input.

you should have waited for the chinese version of t610 that allow chinese input. out on market now |
