A couple of times when my fone has been in my pocket (keys locked) i have taken it out about 10 minutes later and it is turned off.

Has this happened to anyone else?

what software version do you have?

you can see this by entering the service menu with this combination:

> * < < * <
(where > is right with the joystick and < is left)

I've had that a couple of times too.... I just think it's normal.... Nokia also does that If it happens too often, then you should bring it to your Service Centre, but if you can, wait until the MMS update. It'll save you going there twice

Depends if he can wait til the update is available or not.

I personally think that he should take it back to the shop or get it seen to by a SE or something. I know i wouldnt be very happy about my phone turning itself off every so often!!

Itz only happened twice in a month. But it woz nothing to do wit battery coz it had full battery.

it happened to my phone when i was in places with weak signals like nightclubs only during the first few charge/discharge cycles. Since then its been working fine however.
