Not able to send SMS, but I can recieve.. |

Noticed something really strange this morning. I can recieve SMS but not send, I called my mom I asked her to send an SMS to me and just a second after she said done, my phone beeped.
Later I tried with my card in my GF´s T39 and it worked just fine, then I tried with her SIM in my phone and "BEEP - Message not sent, saved in unsent".
Have any of you been exposed to any similiar things?
On monday I´ll be doing a little visit to the store where I bought it, and they we´ll know for sure that Im not the least satisfied with my phone.
Not to mention the "MMS-soup"

what mobile operator do you and your gf use? |

That has actually happened quite often to me, but I always assumed it must be the network... or I didn't have enough signal....
If you then try again and again, suddenly it will work.... Maybe it's a bug...

Guess
Comviq/Tele2
The guy at the store told me that they had big problems with that network, but I told him to make sure that I knew what I wanted, that I´ve never had any problem with their network before and that I wasnt going to change just because that Ericsson can get their SW/HW to work nice together with Comviq.
The way I see things: Its Ericsson problem, I paid 6400SEK for my phone and its up to them to solve it!

mrNoodles... well.. then it isn't much you can do, other than wait and hope and Tele2/Comviq come up with a solution... you can try disabling GPRS, this can help a bit... but... then what is the purpose of a GPRS phone if you can't use GPRS?

Thats true, I mean I buy a certain phone to be able to use all features thats included
And as i sees it, how hard can it be to make things work
I´ll be sending my phone to service until they solves the problem.
Has anyone have these kind of problem with T68i?
I should try to disable GPRS right now and see if I can send

Hehehe you wouldnt belive it or I guess you would
I disabled GPRS and just had GSM as "önskad tjänst"
And it worked, my GF´s phoned beeped immediately..
But as you just said, why buy a phone if you cant use all features

@mrnoodles, you don't need to turn off gprs. just set the phone so that it sends sms via gsm and *not via gprs*
the operator does not support sms via gprs. |

I have the same problem at times, it's the network I think.
You can't send out at times, or even make calls. When you try to make a call, it starts connecting and the whole menu just disappears.
Same thing with sms, says message not sent.

A few days ago i visited local gsm-store and there we tried to test how the green LED works with T68i by sending a sms from T68m. The guy running the store had to try and send the message for several times before it actually "went through". Seems to be a bug... |

I had the exact same problem, which also drived my crazy. But I did what you have done now, changed to send sms not over GPRS. I called Telia(which is my operator) and they told me that thay disabled the function to send sms over GPRS because 'they couldn't garantee the quality of service' Bullshit, i say.I hadn't any problems with QoS during more then a month when it worked. Ofcourse they disable this great funtion to send sms via GPRS ,other wise they don't earn plenty of money on our sms's!!!
Is it someone that should have a uppercut in this case it's the service providers!!
BTW, i posted a topic just like this in januari |

Hi snottra
I joined in february so I didnt see it Could have done a search though
It looks like i have to much time "playing" with my phone, I go by train for 1½h to work and same time home - so I got time to change setttings and so... Not so good maybe

I think the standard settings is send sms over GPRS, so I don't think you have done any changes in the settings, but if I have that long time to go to work I would probably also have done one or two changes in the phone.
But don't you think that people should be aware that the operators is screwing us when they disable that kind of a function, I mean soon they discover that they earn more mone if they disalbe GPRS completly so we have to use HSCD to browse waps pages?!
Do you live south of Stockholm and work in Kista? I also work for Ericsson AB in Kista. I was on Cebit(working) so I talked both once and twice to SE guys about T68 vs T68i, and P800. Intresting I must say. But my lips are closed |
