I just recently got my P800 so I'm kinda confused about a few things....
*How do you change mp3 files to wav?
*What the f**k is ogg cause by reading the posts sounds good?
*What is the best way to have music on my P800 i.e. lowest memory usage but quality not that depleated.

Help me please --->

1. do a google search for 'mp3 to wav' is the best way to find tutorials and stuff... we all have our own different ways of doing this conversion

2. ogg is basically the same as mp3... converts wav sounds into a much more friendly file size... and ogg is more or less half the size of an mp3 without losing the quality

3. storing music on your phone.. go for OGG good sound, good file size

Ogg is a format, just like mp3 and wav are formats. The reason ogg is good is because it compresses music better than mp3 whilst still retaining much of the quality.

You can convert your mp3s to ogg files using DBpoweramp converter (available free on the net). Once you have done this, you need to install oggplay for the P800 (do a search on here, you will find the link for it).

Using ogg player is the best way to get the most music on your p800 at a good quality.

TRY TRY TRY and use original WAV/CD files for the conversion to ogg. If you go MP3 to ogg you will be disappointed - try it. MP3 is already a 'lossy' codec; WAV/CD not so. Best thing to do is experiment. [addsig]

No! If you convert MP3s to WAVs you cannot replace what you have already 'lost' in the original creation of the MP3s! This can get a little tricky according to the sample rate of the MP3 and if that's high, you can sometimes get reasonable results, (MP3 to ogg) especially if you don't have access to the original WAVs (e.g. you got the MP3 from Kazaa etc.). General rule of thumb is to go from CD to ogg wherever possible.
