I know there was an earlier thread about solutions for scratches and someone coughed up some polish from Germany. I'm wondering if anyone has actually used it on their P800 or any other solution as I have a couple of scratches on my screen (screen protectors arrive tomorrow) one of which is, well, a little nasty.

TIA

Sounds interesting!

Lemme know if it works.

Just a thought... I once had an r380 which I accidentally dropped on the pavement. It slid a couple of inches and scratched the infrared's plastic badly. (turned it from black-red to whitish pink)

I got a cotton swab which I applied some windshield polishing paste (very mildly abrasive) and gently rubbed it on the IR eye. After 10 or so cotton swabs and 2 hours, I managed to restore IR eye to an almost new scratch free condition.

Anyway, I don't want to try that trick on my P800. I just resorted to getting a screen protector to cover up the scratches...

\"Displex\" is really good stuff. It comes in very small tubes, and should be internationally available. Check your phone-cover shop.

i apologize for ranting but i just have to let this out

why o why?! such an expensive phone as our beloved and most precious p800 has a soft LCD screen? Not so scratch resistant as some would claim and even the plastic flip could leave marks on its delicate and smooth surface.

ok... back to your regular programming

Amen to that!

I don't think there's such a thing as a scratch proof plastic layer though...

What SE should have done is to provide a modest supply of protective sheets that you can remove and change once the scratches appear. Then, they can also sell them as consumable accessories for the P800 when your supply runs out.

The Brando is the answer to this. It's mandatory if you have the flip.

I don't really know much about the P800 and its flip, but I'd treat the screen like a laptop screen... Always put a soft sponge between the flip and the screen.

@mathibus
Then we wouldn't be able to use the flip at all, because it presses the screen when you press down a button. That is, every button has a small pin or what you call it which press the screen.
