Does anyone know the pinout for the included P800 earphones?

I have a 2.5mm plug to 3.5mm socket adaptor (so I can use any set of headphones) and it works intermittently (have to wiggle the plug for stereo sound) and the voicedial keeps activating too.

I would prefer not to take apart my original earphones to find the configuration

Can anyone help?

Thanks

it's actually a handsfree headset. and from what my VOM tells me (without taking the headset apart) ...

- the tip of the plug is for the LEFT SPEAKER.
- the sleeve after the tip is for the RIGHT SPEAKER.
- the next sleeve is for the microphone, in parallel with the ON-HOOK/OFF-HOOK switch.
- the base is the common ground for the tip and sleeves.

if your 3.5mm-to-2.5mm plug adaptor has the same number of sleeves, then you shouldn't have any problems at all. however, if what you have is an ordinary stereo (3-conductors, instead of 4) adaptor, what you're actually doing is shorting the mic/switch line to the speaker lines -one reason for the phone to screw up.
