Hi guys
I am getting my P800 on Wednesday but I can still cancel my order tomorrow. I have a brand new T68i at present, but cannot hear my SMS notification as there is no volume button to make it louder neither an option to change the tone (besides silent or the click sound). Is this option available on the P800, as I am buying another phone only because of this one reason...what where they thinking of when they designed it.. the rest of the phone is brilliant!
Please help and let me know before I invest in another dud SE.... ( I am a sucker for punishment...)
Regards
Mike

Dude, all I can say is before you purchse this phone just do a thorough search on this forum on the subject of plus and minus points about the P800.

I bought the phone because I was told it was the best - and it nearly is! The only problem is that several minor problems let the phone down (dont want to go into detail here, will just let you do the search). And these are minor problems that I cant believe SE overlooked. But, its a flash as hell phone, and it pretty much does everything you'd expect a PDA to do... oh, and your mates will envy you solid

Oh, and to answer your alert signal question... yes you can adjust the volume. You'll just have to find an audible tone - I'd strongly recommend the Nokia SMS alert tone from sep800. Very boring, but very audible.

You can play any WAV file on the P800, which will be LOUD AS HECK!!!!!!!

I use the "Psycho" sound for my SMS sound, it can easily be heard no matter where I am. =)

and if youre still not satisfied with that, you can load "S&W SMSTones manager" onto your phone and assign different sms alert tones for each one of your contacts. even has an auto-reply function.

To add to that, you can even select an MP3 file as an alert tone as well.
