Hello

I have just brought a T68 second hand and have checked the firmware on it and it is R2A013.

Under the battery it has 02w06 so i gather it was made in 2002 and on Week 6?? is that right as as it would mean the warrenty is now out of date so it would cost around £30 for the firmware update

Would there be any good reason to update the phone as i don't need MMS on it because i have a Orange SPV for that.

Thanks for any help

If you are just using the phone for calls then no problem. However I recall quite a few bluetooth and GPRS problems in early versions of the firmware and certainly SMS typing speed has been increased quite a bit. Also if you have the MCA-25 camera then upgrading will give you the zoom capability.

Personally I have never shown a receipt for getting my old T68i upgraded so if you have a friendly service centre, and maybe buy an accessory or two from them that you might need, then maybe you can get away without paying at all.

Where do you go that they don't ask for a receipt just out of interest?

I'd like to also point out that with m versions you can't use the mca 20 or 25. Try taking it to your local service point you may be lucky ! If bought from car phone warehouse they will do warrenty work with out a receipt . Also it's my 300 post!
