I know I've posted this topic previously, but due to my problem persisiting I'm afraid I'm gonna have to re-post for some help...

The problem is thus...

I charged my battery up fully to 100% yesterday at about 3pm. Almost 3pm today now, and the battery has been drained to almost 30%. Now if I had used the phone a lot that would have been understandable. But thing is that I haven't made 1 single phone call since yesterday! Sent a few sms's. And that's it.

Don't have any apps running, other than handy day. Screen saver only comes on for 2 minutes before going into power save mode.

The battery problem has only kicked in since I moved upto R2F. Not sure if this could be the cause.

Any help and ideas would be much appreciated

Thanks

frustrating!!

smart people learn from mistakes made by others,

I found setting the phone connection preference to GSM rather than GPRS improved the battery life of my phone, see Control Panel-> Connections Tab->Internet Account->Other Tab

i think are battery is comming to and end. but i still use my T68 as a phone for my 2nd provider and i've noticed when i use it on proximus dual band network 900+1800 the battery last about 3days less. then when i use it on mobistar only 900 in my area. and if i use it on base 900 + Egsm it last even longer.
so its you battery or its your network thats asking more power.

Would this not affect the quality of the phone call depending on your service provider?

Any ideas why upgrading to R2F does affect the battery life? Seems quite stupid of SE.

I've noticed some other bloopers by SE on R2F (If there isnt a thread all ready about this, Ill start one soon)

Setting the preference to GSM has no impact on the call quality. The default was GPRS on my phone. Now when I need to connect to GPRS there is a short delay of 20 seconds for a connection. But as I said, the battery life is much better. I do not know why this should be the case - I have not had an upgrade of the firmware at all therefore there may be a GPRS related bug in the version of the s/w I use.

Or you can turn off light in well lit area and just use it when necessary. You battery will last for approximately two days.

I have used my P800 for a month now and have been panicking about all this talk on Battery life. I just came over from a TREO 180G where I would have to recharge MID CALL after I'd made 2 x 5min phone calls most days !!

I just got 3.5 days battery life out of the P800 with 2-3 phone calls, a few SMS's and a bit of web surfing. VERY REASONABLE I SAY !

Yes..I have had my firmware upgraded.

Cheers
