Is anyone using a T68 in NYC with voicestream? The battery life on phones using this pathetic excuse of a GSM provider is terrible. 2-3 days max with all power-draining features off. It cant be a faulty phone because i know 2 other people wih the same problem.

But I dont know, I talk alot and never have had a phone that last long, but the battery time on T68 way exeeds the battery time on my old 8310, but I think its about the same...

All GSM service providers send out constant "location messages" to its subscribers. The phone has to "respond" with its signal quality from the closest base-stations. This is supposed to better the signal quality from your provider, and provide better service... suposedly. The time between each request differs from provider to provider.
VoiceStream is hopeless... the requests are so frequent that the phone never has time to "relax". In Norway, Netcom did the same earlier, but I believe they have less frequent requests today...
This may be one explanation....

Same here + when the VC signal is weak, t68 reboots even 3 times/day. Is this VC or my t68 or R2A?

The battery life vary depending on country you are, in Spain my T68 takes 3 days and a half to dry in Italy only 2 days the same mobile so it depends on power of the Network you are with and/or country...............,regards
