Was: Help Please
Hi, i just bought a new p800 from the US maybe a month ago, i live in china and had it shipped here, I have checked and it isonly version "R1D" and i want to upgrade it to the later versions, the SE service centers here told me that i cannot upgrade it here because it is P800 not P802. i thought that the hardware was all the same?! so it shouldnt be a problem right? but they said it could damage the phone, so i didnt do it... yet... i wasweondering if anyone has had any such experiences or what i can do?
your help is appreciated very much. :D:D
Thanks in advance

It should be exactly the same firmware. I'd in for it :-D It's just like the difference between T300 and T310. Get it upgraded! It's still under warranty, right?

A warranty should be international... I don't know anything about that buying-online-stuff though! I also bought my T300 online, so if that's true, it sucks!

Well, i just called the service center and they told me that since "the software is different" they cannot do it.. ?? any comments? i think they are just BS-ing, but maybe it could ruin the phone? |

hmm i am working in china too and i went to the SE svc centre in my city and they would not even repair my p800 as my warranty is not valid here. they would only upgrade or repair p802 with valid warranties.
I was told to try my luck in a bigger city like Beijing. |
