I have been trying to get my P800 to browse the internet via bluetooth connection to my Mac, has anyone got this working?
I have USB bluetooth and Mac OS X.2.6, I can connect to the P800 and send / receive files from the desktop, but no internet browsing
Any ideas? |

No idea about Mac, but is it somehow possible for you to configure some kind of connection sharing as is possible in Winblows? |

Without knowing exactly how it's done in Windoze, I cannot try to find an equivalent method on Mac.
I do not have any sort of Bluetooth tools other than the built in ones.
I might try to write some sort of bridge app to do it but I will have to work out exactly how it's done from the Windoze version. |

well i can do this with my 3650. if i have the phone paired to the PC (i have windoze) and run opera, opera senses it and browses using my cable connection, but opera is too big on this phone i get a memory full warning before any page even loads up. so i use Doris Browser. but it didn't automatically do it. but i found a thing in symbian forums for a solution:
*note: this is menat for a 3650/7650 and i never used a p800 so just apply it to your p800.
Go to Settings - Connection - Access Points. Create new access point
Connection Name - Bluetooth DSL (Anything really)
Data Bearer - GPRS (Even if you don't have access to it)
Access Point Name - (Important must be the name of your PC shared via BT !!! Check Bluetooth - Paired Devices to be sure)
User name - None
Prompt password - No
Password - Leave as is
Authentication - Secure
Gateway IP address - 0.0.0.0
Now go to settings - connection - GPRS
GPRS connection - when needed
Access Point - (Same as access point name of computer on BT connection )
now when you open opera or whatever you use to browse the internet on you p800 with, just select it to use that bluetooth GPRS setting above that you created. and like the intructions say, make sure access point name is same as your bluetooth name for your PC (or mac!)
good luck, hope it works! |
