IRDA + mobile phone moniter prob plz plz help me ! |

hello everyone,
i recently bought an irda device, my irda recognizes my t68i but cant send anything to my phone or pc (running win98se).
phone moniter says my phone is dissconected, no phone id ect in the catcheventatl app but the options say my t68i my sim com ports enabled but i was wondering if there are any drivers or more software i need to get my irda to communicate with my t68i, ive been trying for ages and ages now but still no luck please please help me if u can

try reducing the speed of the IR on your PC

hi,
thanx for the reply, i have tried every speed on my irda but still no luck sadly, im now wondering if there are any drivers for the t68i that i need to install as i never got the software disc when i bought it ?
i think my problem is that the catchevent application in the mobile phone moniter program always says that my phone is dissconnected i would apreciate any help given to me to get my phone to say its connected please please can somebody help me with this as i have been trying for ages now !

If you are able to, set the IR device to only communicate at half-duplex.
As was said above - reducing the speed to 9600baud also tends to fix a lot of problems.

mobile phone moniter has it as connected, i can send files to my phone but cant send files to my pc any ideas how to do this as this is why i bought my irda device ?

hmm. I would say the same again - if you can, set the deive to half-duplex.
Also, have a look on devices the manufacturers website to see if there are any driver updates available.

BTW what brand is your IR device? A serial adapter? It seems some are more problematic than others. IR on older motherboards are also tricky.
USB IR adapters are most problem free, it seems

my irda device is usb but my motherboard is quite old i sent an email to sitecom (my make of irda device) they told me to update my bios of the motherboard which i have never done because i dont want to mess things up ! |

The BAFO BF120 www.bafo.com.tw works even on my Pentium motherboard, which I couldn't get it to work using the onboard IRDA |
