When converting a picture to use as a background/in a theme, how should I go on to make it look as good as possible? Which format should I use, any conversion hints to make the pictures look better on the phone and so on?

I read the "colour palette" tips, but that was about to decrease size without distorting the picture, how do I make the picture as good-looking as possible when converting from digital photo/pic found on net/scanned pic?

I use the Sony Ericsson Image Editor which does a pretty good job IMHO.

Works for P800¸ P802¸ T610¸ T616¸ T618¸ T68¸ T68i¸ T68ie

image editor is the best so far.

@masseur: ...and for T300! Yup, Image Editor is the best way, but if you convert manually, keep in mind that GIF looks much better than JPEG at SE phones.
