I thought I would open a new topic on this, did a search and found a few comments on it, but none with "solutions".

I have just got a T610 from T mobile, and am about to return it to them, due to the terrible call quality with Bluetooth headsets. I have tried the HBH 30 HBH 35 and HHB500 (siemens), all have the same crackle, and its not just on my T610, I have logged the same headsets onto two other T610's from friends and the crackle is still there. I called SE today to ask if there was any news on an upgrade (firmware) or if anyone else had reported the crackle problem and the guy said.. "NO one else has reported this problem".

I asked if I could log it and he said ok, but don't expect any action to be taken by SE unless several other people call to complain about the same problem, which apparently they havent!!.

Anyone have any ideas before I return this otherwise EXCELLENT phone to t-mobile.??

I read on another forum, if you use the T610 with the handsfree profile, it works fine. If you use it with the headset profile there is where the crackle comes in. Maybe you could try it out with the handsfree profile.

Also heard if it shows it as an unknown device the cracke is there, but if it recognises it as HBH-60 It tends to work fine.

Well cant confirm any as i only have a T610, but if some one could try the following and works fine im really intrested in buying the HBH-60

I just tried the "port h-free" profile with my HBH-35 and the crackle is still there. I don't fine the deahset profile you speak of so cannot test that. Where is the headset profile?

The crackle in my set is very hard to hear, harder than the hiss of the T610, and I really have to press the earpiece of the headset into my ear to even here it so it really isn't that much of a problem.

@masseur: I dont mean the "port h-free" profile.

How are u searching and paring the headset? Are you going to Connectivity > bluetooth > Handsfree OR Connectivity > bluetooth >My Devices?

I think if you specifically use the handsfree option to search it uses the handsfee profile.

I heard the HBH-30 only has the headset profile and not the hansdfree. The HBH-60 Has handset and handsfree. I doono about the HBH-35.

Just have a look at this link:

Hope helps.

thanks for the link and sorry, mine is the HBH-30, not 35.

Unfortunately pairing it that way made no difference and I can still here the crackle. No big deal though because I never heard it until I read about it here anyway!

I had real problems with crackle with my HBH-60 as well as my bluetooth car kit. Calls were constantly being lost. Having exchanged my 610 for a new one I haven't had any problems. Clear audio in both the car & the headset. I am sure there is a problem with some of the original 610's

typical SE - nobody else has reported the problem

roughly translated means - ignore people and the problem will go away !!

I tried the other method to register the headset.. and had the same result.. still have the crackle.. what a pain !

I can't believe that the technology has moved on to better handsets, but yet this damn crackle is just bad news.. my T610 is going to have to go back and I will have to go back to the T68i

My T610 -> 03W22 R3A -> No Hissing, and perfectly loud poly ringtones. Had been swapped for my old hisser 03W17 R2D.

I just bought a new HBH-60 today. Well i doono how to describe a static/crackle, because this is the first bluetooth headset i have bought. But in the best way i can put it is that, when i used the headset for the few minutes, there is a very little noise on the background when the person speaks. Its like how u get a weak radio signal in your car. The hissing on the phone was yet bearable, but this seems to irritate a bit. I doono if this is called the static/crackle, but then yes i have it in the new R3A phone.

The problem is that you can only hear it when you are in a quiet place like in your room or in your car. When i tried it in the shop i dint come to know:( So now its hard to prove to the idiotic shop people that there is some inteference so i doono what to do.

Lastly, my headset got recognised as HBH-60 and not unknown like a few people have reported.

I stay in Dubai. I took it to SE Service center (Juma Al Majid) and they said they were aware of the hissing, and would replace it. But they dint have stock. I bought my phone from Axiom (the main dealers) So i went to them and they swapped it for a new one for me.
