Right, now I am about as peed as peed can get...
Today I upgraded phone to R2F. Was well happy as I thought this will get rid of my problems of not being able to text on occasions due to "full memory"!
BUT, now I keep getting a "SMS SENDING FAILED" message!!!
What is this all about???
I did go into contacts and edited all the mobile numbers on there to "mobile (h)" they were previously "mobile (W)".
I did then go back and transfer some of the numbers back to "mobile (W), just in case this was the cause of the messages failing.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I did switch the phone off and on again (loadsa times)
Frustrated... |

I usually get the "message send failed" whenever I am in an area where network signal is very weak. |

Did you check with your service provider about settings?
If you are using service provider auto-config setup file, then is your provider internal problem. |

You might want to check that your settings are configed to SEND via GSM & not GPRS. Worth a try!

I'm using R1D and i am getting this problem on pretty much every number i try now. At first I thought it was a SIM card problem because I did not get this problem when I first got the phone? Orange sent me a new SIM and the problem was not fixed. It still seems to be something with the contact you send to. I used to have a problem texting my girlfriend then I altered the contact somehow and texting works fine for her. Other people do not seem to be able to be texted by me.. it is very frustrating..
*** EXTRA ****
Just had a Mini break through..
If you go through your contacts select the person you want to text click on the text icon next to their number and the message gets sent.
I am very annoyed that the problem does not seem to be solved in R2F.. grrrr!

Well, things get stranger and stranger...
After having a very late night last night, I managed to drag my a*se outta bed early so as to call me service provider.
Because I'd frantically tried to send sooooooooooooo many sms's last night they'd built up in the OUTBOX.
Whilst explaining the problems to the delightful lady on the other end of the line, 1 by 1 ALL the saved messages began to go through - and we had done nothing at this point other than discuss the problem!!!
Just in case, I tried sending some more sms's, and would you believe it they all went through 1st time... Problem solved we thought.
Oh how wrong I was... it's back again!!!
I have a feeling that the problem occurs everytime I request a delievery report... and then this persists for all sms's thereafter.
Oh well, at least I'll save some money on sms's (untill I suss out the problem)!!! |
