construction layout for integrated p800 gamepad |

this is my idea for an integrated, selfmade gamepad for the p800:
1. take the flippad - replacement (the little plastic part that comes with the p800 and that you mount on your p800 if you remove the flippad) and integrate some dip-buttons, like displayed in the image.
2. now it needs two more things:
a clever electronics engineer should design the driving electronics and a clever programmer should programm a driver that provides an interface or simulates button presses / wheel activities.
any comments ?
update:
look at this micro-joystick - the perfect thing for this gamepad-idea:

further idea: using the ir-port would avoid constructing a bottom connector. and probably its simpler to program. (i dont know.. is there an c++ interface for the bottom connector at all?) (with my limited knowledge: every button has its own square-wave frequency that is transmitted via the ir-port. the software driver then could simply count the frequency received by the ir-port and can so identivy wich button was pressed. the frequencies of the buttons could be determined simply by using different resistors.

Yeah I like the idea for those who play games on their P800.

because if using another flip pressing on the touchscreen wastes many lines of screen-pixels, can be harmful to the touchscreen and works with an undefinable point of pressure. i for myself dismounted the flip the first day i got my p800.

If you use the flip principle you can only press one button at a time...
So this idea is much better. |

Why not a bluetooth gamepad? Many BT-enabled devices are coming out and some, like the handheld random movement printer are pretty f-ing cool...so anything can be done.
Pair the gamepad and some BT speakers (maybe even a portable BT screen! soon, soon...) and you've got a gaming system. Watch out xbox... |

because: somehow the p800 is in the market for months and there is still no specific gamepad for the bottom connector and there is too no gamepad for bluetooth (besides this would be expensive, because bluetooth is not licence free..)

At least one of the new SE models coming has an integrated game-pad. Imagine a unit with gamepads/buttons on each side, and the phone clips into the middle, providing the screen. Very Playstation styled.
Very cool. |

Yeah - well, imagine now that I already bought a phone.
I'm not about to buy another for a joystick. |
