P810......I Hope Not! |

After seeing a thread on here claiming that their would be an upgrade to my beloved P800 in the form of the P810 I promtley email SE CS. The email I sent to the is as follows -
" I have recently bought a SE P800, I have just read off a Forum (backed
up by a website saying the same thing) that there will be an update to the P800
in the form of the P810. I appreciate that if this is the case then it is
unlikely to be released soon but is this "rumor" true? If so, will there be
anything on offer to existing P800 owners to make up for this inevitable
disappointment?
Many Thanks, Oliver"
I have just this morning recieved the following reply.
"Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre.
Regarding your enquiry, there is no truth in this rumour. There will not be an
upgrade on the exsisting P800 to a P810.
This rumour will not happen, but there are software updates released every so
often to enhance and add to the P800.
Please contact the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre again if we can assist you
further.
Kind Regards,
Mark Conniff"
Great news to me and it has certainly but my mind at rest, just hope that Mr Conniff isn't Conning me (did you like that ) and is telling me the truth....we shall have to wait and see.
Long Live the P800!!!!!!

I think what SE said is correct, they are not upgrading the P800 to the P810... they are bringing out a new model called P810... thats not the same thing.
that if you read it literally of course!

Dont say that .....I'm only really bothered as an "upgrade" or a "new model" that is very similar to the P800 will presumably push the price down of the P800, meaning that when I go on to sell it, i'll get peanuts! Also, its not nice thinking/knowing that you have no longer got the best piece of kit out there. |

Are you happy with your P800? if so then what is the problem? if not then get the P810 when (if) it comes out.
As I said in another thread you have to expect companies to continually bring out new models, often based on older models, as technology improves etc. The P800 was a long time coming and they obviously want to capitalise on that R&D.
You can't expect a company to stop making new models to protect the value of products already purchased.

I don't believe if Sony Ericsson will not release new models (e.g. P810).
Sony Ericsson is a profit-oriented commercial organization,
and they are making money. Don't expect they will let you have all the latest things with an old product which cannot let them earn more money.
Just buy what you want to buy, get what you want to get. If you like their new phones and have money, then use your money to support them, vice versa. If you just bought a P800, then it is really a bad case. However, technology and commercial are like that. Just like most Nokia users, they buy a 7210 first, and then a 6100 just for smaller physical size, and then a 7250 for a built-in camera, then a 7250i for some little more functions... all within a year... and then...... (who knows) |

Of course they are going to keep it hidden!
They are not gonna tell you the truth until they officially announce it. The pictures we have all seen say everything that there is to say!

I wouldn't call it 'hide' but they certainly will not discuss products that have not been officially announced.

I still don't believe all this "wish-wash", I mean the pictures of the "P810" look like they were taken in Saddam's secret bunker or something. Couldn't they be taken with more clarity.No.....why? Because it is just a hoax! I will happily eat my mca20 If I'm wrong....when and if that happens |

yesterday a friend took delivery of her new se 610 and i must say its gorgeous. if se removed the keypad from the 610 and replaced the whole front of the phone with a touch sensitive screen that would be a small light P800 more or less? i wonder if thats what they are thinking of? i'd buy one. |

customer care are mostly 1st line monkeys.
They are hardly gonna know the answer to life the universe and everything.
Anyway, as others have said, the P810 is not an update to the P800, it's a replacement.
In the same way that the Nokia 6310 was a replacement for the 6210 which was a replacement for the 6110.
In the same was as the Sony Z7 was a replacement for the Z5 etc etc etc etc etc |
