this is the thing.
i have downloaded some new imy music files to my PC. then i tried to transfer the files to my P800 but i couldnt drag and drop the .imy.txt files to the sound files. 2 types of memories show on the P800 software (memory stick and internal memory). I was able to drag and drop the files in to the memories which drops it automatically into the document files instead of sound files. When i tried to open the files later on my P800, i was only able to listen to them under:
control panel---> sotrage maanger---> click on FILES---->location: internal or external and type is document(not sound where it should be). I can listen to the file on documents but there is no way to transfer the file to an AUDIO file where i could have it as a ring tone. or is there a way to transfer it to the Audio file instead of the documents????
help needed please!!!
P.S. even when i tried to send the file as an attachement to an email (dont have IR yet) to my account as a sound file. I was able to save it in the unfiled external/internal file but not transferred to an audio file.
thanks in advance! |

Don't think I can help much on this one since I don't use imy files. But they are not suppose to be like .imy.txt change the extension to .imy without the txt. Like ketchup.imy.txt should be ketchup.imy

The point is your PC has them under name something.imy.txt this means it recognises them as text files. Hence on the phone you have them under document files. Try renaming them as something.imy I use DOS to change extensions of files. Windows doesnt do it easily.

In windows you can do it very easily. Just open explorer.exe (Windows Explorer) and Tools - Folder Options - View and then make sure that the "Hide extension for known file types" is unchecked.
Then when you rename a file using File - Rename or just click on F2 while highlighting the file you just switch the name. So if the name is ketchup.imy but looks like a txt file, then do this and you will see ketchup.imy.txt so just remove the txt part and press ok on the warning sign about the file might not work.
