Ever since I started using my new laptop this week, my NEW POST COUNT is very high. Even after logging in. Right now, there are over 100.000 new messages. Usually, it would show 50-300. Any ideas?

I guess you're talking about New posts Since Your Last Visit on top of the forum?

Yes, that's right - New posts (since last visit).

On my old computer, it used to show a reasonable number. Now it shows 102232.

All other cookie related functions work.

seems to be working for me with the exception it doesn't get the date and time of last visit right, unless perhaps thats not my timezone... yeah that might explain that.

it happens
usually kix over after a few visits
dun worry too much about it

I like how my-symbian does it
it stores newest posts on the server, and no matter where u login from, it tells u how many new posts
no cookie mess

on a new pc it will be different as you have never logged on using that pc before and have no cookies. as for the other problems my guess is your security settings are set to high or custom.

I would like to see a new feature where I can say "set all to read" so that this counter goes back to zero.

Since I have Esato on my laptop all day as I work on my desktop it would make keeping up with latest posts much easier as only new posts since I reset that counter would be displayed when I refresh.
