Strange I don't think of it as complaining. I think of it as requesting more support. I think of it as being a concerned consumer. I know I have the best phone on the market, but I also know it's not the most functional. And I have no indication that the manufacturers are doing what they should to increase its functionality. It's like would you buy a Rolls Royce if you couldn't get any parts for it. Or even better would you buy a Rolls Royce if it only had an AM radio antenna? Sure you could buy another antenna, but shouldn't the company at least have FM if not a CD player and maybe even a changer seeing that even the cheapest Ford can come equipped with those these days. And if you know anything about Rolls Royce's you know that just because you buy a new antenna doesn't mean its going to fit in your Rolls cause you know Rolls' require special antennas. A bit of overkill on the metaphor, but if I am off target do tell me.
And I'm sorry but petitions do work, especially if the people who say petitions don't work support them as well. It's about numbers, that's all. A petition with 50 signatures wont don jack. But a petition with every P800 user on this forum and every P800 user on the other forums, is a pretty strong voice. I would argue that it is potentially the majority of P800 consumers in the world. If SE would ignore that type of statement, they are practically flushing money down the toilet. |

as someone on the my-symbian forum said, petitioning Sony won't get you anywhere, since it's a SonyEricsson product not just Sony

In this case i think the petition WILL work, because SE is a 'for profit' company which relies on its reading of the market for suvival and this petition would act as just an opinion from Customers/Potential Customers. Hence I feel that this petion will work. |

I agree with you...
In India, support and accessories from is PATHETIC. I'm using a P800 and I've been waiting for the HPR 20 FM Radio handsfree for 4 months now. Today I got intimation from a dealer that ONLY 2 PIECES have reached my city and they have been committed to VIP customers. It alomst made me feel that is "punishing" me for buying the P800 in the first place. |

When have petitions worred?
1832 Chartist movement 3million signitures presented to parliment. They still refused. And you can dream of every p800 user complaining but relistically your gonna get 5%. And still SE have no interest. They will only have intrest in changing or introducing products which THEIR market research has highlighted. Exsisting users who have given there cash to SE take a backseat to people yet to buy a p800 because at the end of the day SE wanna make as much money as possble through p800 sales accesories are gonna take a back seat for a long time.

Vermania,
Here's a question, how would signing hurt you? If you're right, you signed big deal. You can rub it in my face, see nothing happened. If I'm right you signed, you get to benefit from it. In the end why not sign and see what comes from it. Because hey, you never know I may work for SE.

I agree with you. Good on you to take the initiative. People/consumer power is extremely strong and you have my support. A few lessons in history will prove that. Good luck ! |

isnt that like complaining that there isnt enough support? hmmm
dunno about yours, but my P800 does exactly what told me it would do. it has a peice of software that plays MP3s. hence mp3 player. what else can is it supposed to do? dance?
gettign a third party mp3 player isnt gonna hurt you. "oh no! i have 2 bits of software that can play mp3s" hardly the end of the world is it.
the idea of a smart phone is so people, who dont work for can develop software to change the phone to how they want it.
The p800 is one of a kind a the mo, of course its not gonna be perfect, but it is a market leader for mobile phones. the next smart phone that would be released would be an improvement on the p800, its the way the market works.
If you aren't happy with the p800 and the software, maybe you should consider not buying the first of its kind. then there'll be less bugs, and more "gimmicks"
put personally, i'd prefer to see developing their new phones. the 3g ones, which are gonna make more of an impact on the market. why should they waste time on something they've already realeased, just cos the odd one or two are unhappy.
but for those who have been on esato for long enough.. i want you to look back to the t68i upgrades. we waited ages for them. people were complaining left right and centre. Then it arrived. and what happened? they complained.
"rah rah rah whats happened to tetris?" "i thought we'd have it faster than b4"
its all the same... you get you complain, you improve you complain...
just appreciate what you have, instead of the constant whinging.
maybe ive gone on a bit.. but thats what sitting at work doing nothing and miserable coonts who aint happy does to you.
