If I understand their problem -- which is largely financial -- it is still possible to save them with a cash infusion. Perhaps a number of us together can pony-up a little something to save the service. A bundled several thousand in any currency might do the trick. I am awaiting a response to my own inquiry about how much money is needed and whether contacting Esato and other user groups may allow them to keep operating with small membership contributions, much less than the cost of the MMS fee itself.
Alternately, since the problem is in their bandwidth, are there several different groups who are interested in taking over this service separately so that the bandwidth use is much smaller. Maybe Esato can have its own mms server that will not exceed bandwidth problems, and that members can join for a monthly or annual fee.
Just a thought. |
