You could do what i am doing.. wait
I have a feeling/hope that in a few months time there will be:
a: A S55i /successor
b: A T610i /successor
c: None of the above, but another one with similar features
d: The prices will be more humane, and the FW-versions will approach stable state
In any case you will be the winner.
But on the other hand.. sometimes you want a new phone like _now_
Tough one really..

I don't think its that tough really... There will always be a better (or successor) phone coming whenever you decide to buy so you may as well just buy when you see something you like otherwise you will always be waiting!

@masseur
I disagree
I've had my P800 since december and nothing up till now has come along that is better than it
so that makes like 6months? and nothing better yet
but when u buy simple phones, u will always find some thing new and better, or more fitted to ur needs

fijbert, I take your point so I guess its a matter of timescales and also what is better for each person... For example I had the T68i for over a year but I only had the P800 for 3 months until the T610 came out
I have the same problem with laptops... I usually get Sony Vaios and sometimes I can go 18 months with the same machine but recently I seem to change every 6 to 8 months because something with enough improvement for me to justify the change comes along!

it all depends on point of view
something WILL eventually be better than the P800
but phones dont get replaced that often
look at the T68i.. it finally got replaced

The sad thing is that in four or five years they will all be worthless

If this thread proves to be correct then what a difference a weekend makes!

To be honest I want bluetooth, polyphonic, colour display, java, downloadable aplications, and first of all a very good browser,a browser that knows all(or almost all) formats. |

Then bye the T610... It's the best phone there is out right now... And if you decides to wait maybe 6 months, you will find yourself in the same situation as you are in right now...
