Well, I seem to have run into a problem.

Until recently, I had a dial-up connection. Had MPM, Sendfile and MMS composer installed and they worked like a charm.

I changed to DSL connection. Since then, no application can connect to my phone anymore. I do remember when transferring files, the app. connected to my dial up modem (dunno what for)

I have uninstalled and re-installed everything, but no avail.
I've been told that the MPM settings can't be changed once on a pc... is it true? Seems a bit ridiculous doesn't it?

Oh yeah I use USB Dc10 cable, coz my pc has no IR. The cable works, I've checked that.

If anybody can tell me how to alter the settings in a way that the pc will connect to the phone, I'd be very grateful. Thanks a million!

That sounds like the COM ports got re-assigned as a result of installing the DSL modem/network card. Say you had the data cable as COM3 before DSL. You installed DSL, that (or your modem) became COM3, and your data cable got re-assigned to COM4. Meanwhile when you try to send file through cable (still set at COM3), it instead dials your modem.

good thinking. Unfortunately, it wasn't the answer

Last thing i'm gonna try is uninstall the cable completely in reinstall it. If that doesn't work..... I guess I'm gonna sit in a corner and cry

hmm, check your configuration panel, there are options there you can change (including the com port's that should be used by MBM).

It took me awhile to find that out to

[edit]
I've got a "Opties Phone Monitor" you should have the same

well, problem solved at last

In case anybody encounteres summat similar: unplug USB-modem and try again. It's the modem eating ALL power directed to the USB-ports.

[irony] It's always the simplest solutions that we overlook....[/irony]
