hi,everybody. I live in Hong Kong and I bought a T68m in November. The software is R1B but Hong Kong Ericcon CS refused to upgrade my phone because it is T68m, they just upgrade T68mc version. And I have a friend living in UK and I decide to mail my phone to her to upgrade in UK. But I wonder if UK Ericsson will upgrade for me or not because my T68 is indonesia warranty. Is there any global warranty in UK?? Anybody can help me?? Thanks a lot. |

@papajames: T68mc is the Chinese version of T68m
@kitxkit: It really depends on the Service Centre, some of them ask for your receipt, others just update it...
You could probably send it somewhere closer, if you have any contacts...

Those service people shouldn't refuse you. I suggest talking to em again, or bringing your lawyer along with you the next time you go.
Or the cops, yeah. The cops.

The warranty is international, but a good idea is to enclose the warrantypapers when you send the phone to your friend. But it should not be any problem...

I suppose you wait for the MMS sw going to release, if it will exist in the future anyway. if the new software come out from ericsson them try to update your phone.

Cops? That would be a VERY funny sight! A guy walking into the Service Centre with two cops and his lawyer, demanding the new software update!
Get real!!!

Yeah, it's the policy of Hong Kong Ericsson CS which doesn't upgrade any T68 version except T68mc. FxxKing policy.
Haha, if I had so much power and money to bring the cops and lawyer along with me, it's better to buy T68i. Don't need to do so many things to demand for the new software. Hahahaha |

I'd bring along my lawyer and a couple of cops if possible.
Good to have lawyer and cops as friends.

Don't forget you need to take 1 "Good cop" and 1 "Bad cop"! This always worked in Cracker and other police dramas! ;o)

I thought ericsson had a global warranty? They should at least upgrade the firmware to the latest T68mc version. One of the reasons i have nokia, bought the damn buggy 7110 in Ireland, and Singapore SP refused to upgrade it unless i pay. No globalwarrant

Sorry, i meant they should upgrade it to the latest firmware for the t68m, so that way they are not converting the phone from m to mc, just upgrading it
