Hi everybody i have a t68 and data cable. how can i set computer up to use the gprs? i can use the modem for normal 9.6K connection but dont know how you set up pc for gprs. What software do i need?

No special software needed. Just activate your gprs subscription and make a dial up.

gprs subscriptions dont use a phone number they use apn so what do i type in the network connections thingy |

The format for the phone number is *99***n# where n is the CID number from the data connection |

Thanks mate i had worked it out but thanks for reading. Do you know how i can get the orange gprs subscription to work because it just connects and nothing will load it just says said cannot be displayed does it not work with the orange provider as it does the same with the dial up but if i use a different provides it works fine

Orange NL uses two different GPRS profiles for connecting to the internet.
One is called 'Share' and it doesn't actually connect you to the internet, but to a Orange network. You'll get assigned an ip address in the 10.*.*.* range.
The other profile you can set up in your phone, is called 'internet' and actually connects you to the real internet.
Just set up a new WAP profile, name it Internet, apn-name internet and no username or password.
This will get CID 2 from your phone, if you haven't set up any other connections.
Use the phone numer *98*2# on your laptop to call the real internet.
This works on Orange NL. |
