Hiya, a collegue of mine is selling me the Sony Ericsson P800 for a pretty bargained price and claims that he just bought it a month ago and hence it's pretty slightly used.
The Phone's System Information is as follows:
Phone: CXC162002 R1D
Bluetooth: CXC12529 R2C
Organiser: CXC162001 R1G05
CDA: CDA162001/8 R2A04

Please let me know if this version of P800 is the latest? Also, I "feel" the phone's a little laggy when it comes to using the Cam.....anyone seen this happen before? Could this be a prob with the phone?

Please reply at your earliest conveniences.

Thankis in advance,
-Sagacious

Buy it, and get the software update at your next service point. The cam app has received a couple of enhancements (see other postings here) and the device became more stable and faster - and some more apps run on R2F which are not running on R2D... Fine decision - go for it!

PS: Dont expect the cam to be superb. 640x480 = 1/4 million pixel. This is not a 2 or 3 mega pixel cam or similar! Take it for a snapshot - and send that as email or MMS, and that's what you should expect.

As far as I know (and I've been reading this forum for four months now) the hardware has not changed. The software can be flash upgraded by your local Sony Ericsson dealer, so if it's a good deal (and you're sure it's not nicked) then buy it.

Yes the camera (viewfinder playback) is a little laggy, but this could be down to the number of apps running or free memory. Try switching the phone off and on again - this usually clears it. No doubt later versions of the software fix/reduce this.

Make sure you can get proof of purchase from your mate otherwise you will have to pay to get it software upgraded though! (or at least that's the official line -I've not got mine flashed yet)...
