Ive now owned my P800 for 12 days, and I must say the phone itself is very good. But ive encountered a few nasty problem, and am currently waiting on a replacement. Anyone else had the following issues ?
1. Battery doesnt last any longer than 24hours, even when all programs are closed.
2. You dial out, but dont hear any ringing tone. Its just dead, and then all of a sudden someone answers.
3. Random lockups.
4. Ear piece is very distorted.
5. Contacts seem to randomly disapear.
6. Jog dial locks up and wont rotate.
Hmm. I think that was all.. If I remember any others, i'll post them =)

ad 1: same for me. close unused apps (use tools such as sman to kill those). that made it up to 48hrs on my device.
ad 2: operator problem.
ad 3: hmmmh. dont have that.
ad 4: ask for replacement.
ad 5: do a sync regularly. I never lost any contact in my addressbook. latest sync software can be obtained from the SEMC website. http://www.sonyericsson.com -> go on "global support"
ad 6: contact your next service point and ask for replacement of your unit.

1. Try disabling the screensaver and backgroundlight(atleast during the day)
2. The tone itself is sent via the network. Which means, it's not the phone which has the problem. This can happen with landline phones too.
3. You mean the triangle of death. Hold the power button for 10 sec and it closes etc. Just upgrade your phone to R2F and this should be fixed.
4. Yes the earpiece is crap. But then again, it's plugged into a audio/mic thingie. I bought one which I put in the bottom of the phone, that one worked great. Though I gave it away to dad, so I don't know what the name of it is.
5. Now this one is weird... contacs should NOT dissapear. Try upgrading. Should work (I hope)
6. Never heard of this one.. sorry.
Hope this helps.. and if people think I am all wrong now. Don't flame me with how stupid I am, just tell me whats wrong and I will know next time.
