As the T68m is being superceeded by the T68i does this mean that new T68's on Orange will be the T68i? If this is the case I will be VERY ANGRY as I have just received my T68m on Orange UK and with all the rumours that the firmware will not be upgraded to the T68i version flying around. Does anyone have any firm news as to whether we will get the firmware upgrade to the T68i firmware (Im not bothered about the cosmetic difference in the phone) but it was sold as a MMS phone!

Sigh. If you read some of the other, very recent, posts on the same subject you will discover that the hardware is the same, the changes are cosmetic only, and all T68/T68m owners will get a software upgrade to take them to the same functionality as the the T68i.

You should be 'VERY ANGRY' at the person who sold you a T68m as an MMS phone,

Agreed it will be once the software is upgraded, but not yet.

AFAIK, SE have always marketed the T68m as MMS upgradable, but this leaves them at liberty to;
(i) change the spec to omit this feature

(ii) charge customers for the upgrade [not unheard of, Nokia did with the 7110 software upgrade to support PhoneSync

It is annoying when sales people jump the gun and promise future functionality, when circumstances can change.

The Siemens S25 was touted as the first WAP phone, but by the time WAP was launched in the UK, the phone was incompatible with WAP 1.1 and left customers disgruntled.

A final thought, if SE thought they could get enough T68m owners to buy a T68i, would they offer the software upgrade.......

I agree with Baz! And besides that, you can't just download the software and implantate it in your phone because it is encryptated! And you need special hardware to decrypt it! By the way, have a nice day!:-o

of course....They are not so stupid to say to you frankly:" No problem, you can upgrade your 68m to 68i version right now."-first they are going to sell A LOT of 68i and THEN let the information out that you CAN.I dont mind-I can wait another fortnight...and then upgrade.
At least here in Slovenia things goes that way.
