This has probably been mentioned before but I cant find it on the search. I have downloaded music match but want to know how I can make the size of a WAV file smaller, and how I can just take a short clip from a song ie if i just wanted a chorus.

ps does anyone have any Stereophonic WAV files I can use for a ringtune.

Once in Cool Edit Pro or Soundforge you should consider using the IMA-ADPCM or GSM 6 codec for wav files. They really take the size down. Also if you resample the wav file to about 22k and 8 bit you get smaller files. MP3's as ring tones would be nice but can't be done.

Personally I use Winamp 2.9 to rip my cd collection then use Soundforge to trim down the loop I want and usually save it using the basic PCM at 22Khz and 8bits. If its quite vocal you could use the GSM codec its the same as what the phone uses to send voice with and therefore works with more vocal stuff.
