It's out, I downloaded it, played with it,... and uninstalled. Sorry, but this version is not what I had hoped it to be. Here are a few observations:
1. The day view is unacceptably slow. Every time I switch to it, it displays "Loading..." for 3-5 seconds. That alone is reason for me to ditch it. Handy Day is instantaneous.
2. Event times in day view are only full hours (!!!???!!!). That's ridiculous. Handy Day shows the full event time at a glance.
3. Scroll wheel navigates only through a day. Handy Day lets you scroll through future and past dates.
4. Bluetooth access is three taps vs 2 taps in Handy day.
5. Customization is needlessly complex. Why can't I change the background of the day view when I'm in it? It tells me to go back to desk view and do it there. It's a minor detail, but still...
What I like is the ability to close an app via jog dial, but that's not enough to make me switch.
My 2 cents. |

having purchased version 1 do I have to pay again for version 2?
i too prefer handy day. the day view which whilst it does have it's advantages over handy day it has too many disadvantages. Try it and see what you think

So end of the day, which is better?
Tacker or Handy Day.
I just downloaded Tracker trail version and hasn't got the time to really run through it, so ideas and thoughts would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

I guess it still is a matter of preference. If you want a responsive day view with perfect layout, then Tracker certainly does not beat Handy Day. If you have gazillions of apps, then Tracker may be what you want.
I still think that for my purposes, Handy day is simply better. It provides both a day view (which is the most important thing for me) and has icons for 6 of the most vital applications at the bottom (all of this in one screen that requires no "Loading..."). Plus, the layout of the day view is so much better in Handy Day and the immediate single-tap access to new message, task, etc. as well as the two-tap access to Bluetooth makes Handy Day look as the champion to me.
Most importantly, however, it is good that we have choices. So every user can pick their favorite app. For me, it's Handy Day, because it suits my style of using the P800 better that Tracker. I'm sure all of these apps will evolve with time and hopefully, the next version of Tracker will avoid the constant Loadind delay. I'll revisit that version. |

I agree. The day view is by far the most important thing for me. Shame, was really looking forward to tracker 2 |

Nautilus,
Thanks for such detailed response! I'll check out Tracker first and the Handy Day as per pointed out from you of it's navigations.

This is why I use tracker(v1):
I have little or no need for a today view so the lack of it doesn't bother me to much...
I can set the browser button to close app.
It has the best file manager with jog dial scrolling and blue tooth send
It has a running apps section with a close all function.
With Sweet-Hearts(a member here on this forum) brilliantly made backgrounds it looks damned good.
It displays Free RAM as well as user space.
I can have all my apps on one screen.

Yes, that's a nice feature and I had acknowledged that in my previous post.

If you don't have a card reader, that is convenient. But I rarely use the File Manager anyways, because of the card reader.

That's not specific to Tracker. Handy Day has the same feature.

Again, not specific to Tracker. I have my own backgrounds for Handy Day. maybe I should post them...

Handy Day is even better, since it contains the free space info as a bar graph for both internal and external drives and it's always visible in the status bar.

That's true, but how many do you actually use on a regular basis? I can say that Handy day gives me 6+3 in addition to the 6 at the top in its day view and that pretty much covers my needs.
As I said, the various apps have pros and cons and it's all a matter of personal preference. Just decide which features are more important to you and then decide.
