I went to the Mobile Life exhibition at Earls Court today. It was quite crap to be honest- the only fun thing was blujacking all these random people!
The SE stand was really crap! They had about 3 working models of the P800 and a few other phones. They gave no freebies either!
I must say though, the Nokia stands were excellent and they were giving these cool light stick things away and there were some very nice girls giving phone demonstrations! SE had about 6 middle aged men in comparrison!
If u wanna go and have some fun blujacking then pop down there, but otherwise dont bother coz it was quite crap really!

How come we get the crap shows when others on here from around the globe all seem to have shows to die for. Does no one know the the UK is one of the mobile phone market leaders, and we should get better than this. Anyone else been to the show and if so what did you think of it. Were there many people there, and were they general puplic or just sales reps having freebie lunches on thier firms accounts.

I'm being dense here, but what is 'Bluejacking'? I assume it means linking to other phones via Bluetooth, but what can you do once connected?
Since I had my P800 I've not used Bluetooth as I don't have any bluetooth devices, but I get my new laptop with bluetooth and wi-fi next week! So come on guys - educate me - what can I do with Bluetooth? |

@mbailey see http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=15976&forum=16#post211949 for info on blujacking.
@volvoman- there was less people there than i expected, but i was there quite early and left quite early so im not sure how many people were there throughout the rest of the day. There definately quite a lot of sales reps- u can spot them a mile away with their smart shirts and cheezy smiles! |

And that is proberbly why there was no freebies, salesmen will try to get anything for nothing. |

By comparison, the retailer conferences are brilliant. I went to a company roadshow, and all the biggies were there; SE, Nokia, Motorola, etc, and I got loads of freebies including a rather nice SE pen, a really high quality Vodafone T-Shirt and a Nokia handsfree kit as well as loads of other little bits and bobs!

@volvoman, UK is a very high mobile phone consumer, as you say.
I wonder if they don't really need to push so hard here. also, that show (which i was tempted to give a look on sunday as i have the free tickets) maybe just a way for Carphone Warehouse to waste some money that would otherwise go for tax.
I noticed he said the Nokia stand had pretty girls & SE had middle age men, yea, thats their target markets, Nokia for "Looks with a sting in the tail" & SE for "Doing the business" |

Yea! Thanks to however posted about those free tickets -where did you find that promotion code?!
Anyway I've booked the 2 free tickets for tommorow .... and I would be tempted to go - but it's a hassel and it's fathers day tommorow - so may have other duties?! |
